The chapter is the attempt to abstract the required ice-sports rink dimensions and refers to the according international Federations (ISU, IIHF, WCF) respectively major North American Federations (NHL, Hockey Canada, USA Hockey).

The definition of ice rinks sizes and conditions are determined in the official rulebook of ISU (International Skating Union) for:

- Short Track Speed Skating.

Ice hockey rink dimensions have various sizes, defined for North American Leagues in the official rulebooks of NHL (National Hockey League) as well as official rules of Hockey Canada and USA Hockey. European ice hockey leagues refer to the official rulebook of IIHF (International Ice Hockey Federation).

Curlers ice rinks referred to as “sheets” and are stated with the rules of the WCF (World Curling Federation).
