Ice rink construction ice rink
Ice rink constructions basically vary in regard of operating conditions, either portable or permanent application.
Configurations of portable ice rink constructions mostly require a leveled sub-construction. On this sub-base a tarpaulin is getting positioned as a collecting pan in which the piping system gets mounted. The water then finally has to be sprayed directly on the piping system to build up the ice.
The foundations set up of permanent installed ice rinks basically consists of thick sandwiched layers of stable and insulating construction material. On top of this bed-plate the piping system got embedded in concrete, quart-coating, just sand or others. The ice then gets built on top by layers.
Alternatively a portable piping system can be installed on a permanent foundation. The piping system can get completely dismantled in case of no longer required or even in summertime. This alternative ice rink configuration has several advantages:
1.There is no concrete which has to be cooled down. Consequently the energy consumption of the facilities got reduced.
2.In fact of no concrete is buffering, the ice temperature can be adapted very quickly on the requirements depending on the professional sport event.
3.Instead of concrete, bitumen can be used as top layer of the foundation. In summertime to favor for inline-hockey, because inline skates have lots more grip on bitumen than on concrete which mostly is real slippery to skate on.
A portable ice rink construction is also a good solution for keeping existing facilities in use, which permanent cooling system has broken down unable to repair.
